Across the Landscape

A biodegradable geotextile for mountain landscapes made from the wool of the Manech sheep, a breed native to the Pyrenees. Today, the geotextiles that maintain and stabilize soil are most often made of plastic. Taking hundreds of years to decompose, this material diffuses micro-plastic into the ground. Wool is a biodegradable material that fertilizes the soil. Rich in proteins, organic matter and nitrogen, the slow degradation of wool fibers is a natural material assimilated by the environment helping plants grow.

One white or grey zone in the geotextile equals the amount of fleece produced by a sheep over a year.
